June 20th, 2010 Natubella No comments

Impossible not to make a small post about this Royal Wedding when I am living in Sweden!

I never saw so much merchandise about such an event before… and most of the Swedes were so excited!

A lovely love story between a normal guy and a real princess… how about that!

Here a picture of the happy couple! Congrats to Princess Victoria and her newly husband Daniel!

The angel of death…

May 30th, 2010 Natubella 1 comment

That’s how I often refer, ironically, about my mother or my grandma… why? Because in general every time I talk to them, they tell me about someone that has passed away… Well, now it’s my angel of death moment (my 3 last posts are the proof!)! I know, I know, the next posts will not be about dead, I promise!… but we embrace birth with joy and hope, why can’t we try to see dead from a more positive point of view… it’s still part of life, right?

Anyway I won’t make this longer. My respects and a big goodbye to Denis Hooper and to Gary Coleman.

2 small videos about them:

Gustavo Cerati – Argentine artist songwriter

May 25th, 2010 Natubella No comments

I read that Gustavo Cerati is going through some health problems (he had a stroke after a show in Venezuela and he is still there until he gets better) and I decided to do a small post about him. I wish he get well soon, of course and with my wishes, here it goes some info and a video of his work .

Gustavo Adrián Cerati Clark (born August 11, 1959) is an Argentine artist and songwriter. During the 1980s and 90s he was a member of the Argentine rock band Soda Stereo , along with Charly Alberti and Zeta Bosio (remember I had played with him, right?) . In the early 90s, with Amor Amarillo, he pursued a solo career”

Watch his last video, “Rapto”:

Metal legend Ronnie James Dio dead…

May 18th, 2010 Natubella No comments

Not long ago I did a cover song of Black Sabbath, remember? NIB

So it felt like posting about Ronnie James Dio, the singer who replaced Ozzy Osbourne in Black Sabbath and who died at age 67… what happened? life! It doesn’t matter actually how, does it? well, it was not a murder and not a suicide…

Anyway, I just wanted to say good bye to a great voice! RIP

Gröna Lund’s “Insane” roller coaster, brief but intense!

May 15th, 2010 Natubella No comments

I love amusement parks, I love roller coasters and Stockholm has both and good ones!

I went to this amusement park: Gröna Lund in Stockholm Sweden, yesterday. I didn’t want to rise my hopes up, knowing that Swedes are pretty conservative and kind of shy… in a way (believe me, I have been here for a while!). But I rushed my judgment. Not only the park was full of people, even though it was a rainy day, but I realized that when they want to have fun, they go for it with no restrain! Check “Insane” one of the roller coaster of the park and its main attraction these days! The ride doesn’t last long and I think it’s for the best! See it for yourselves ;)

Needless to say, I had crazy fun, wouldn’t have you? :D

“The Cove”, touching, heartbreaking documentary…

April 21st, 2010 Natubella 6 comments

If you love animals like I do, this Academy Award winner documentary is a “must”. When I finished watching it I couldn’t believe how far human stupidity and omnipotence go… It’s a shame that some people is so blinded by the concept of intelligence that they forget to apply it…

And  “The Cove” it’s only one example of this strange “superior” behavior that some human beings have…

Watch it, shed some tears if you feel like (I did!) but then do something to help this or other causes. It doesn’t take much… maybe a sing up in some website… perhaps a small $$ collaboration… everything helps!

Here is a petition to stop the cruelty shown in the documentary, so if you are interested, just sign it!

Tom Weston, a box full of surprises!

April 21st, 2010 Natubella 5 comments

Remember the interesting animated video (N.I.B.) I recently released? Well, Its director, Tom Weston is a multi-skilled character and I didn’t even know!

I was at home last week, when someone rang the door and drop a package before I could see who it was… The messenger wasn’t important in that case, but what the box contained was! Two books autographed by the writer: Tom Weston! I was  gladly surprised, because I didn’t know he was also a writer (I must admit that Nordic King was the one in direct contact with Tom). So I did some research and I found out that this man is a talented and hardworking man.

Here is his BIO (for more info you can go to his site):

“Originally from England, Tom now resides in Boston, Massachusetts.

Before turning his hand to fiction, Tom had a successful career as the CEO of a
consulting company, conference speaker and writer of industry articles and business books.
But determining that the business world lacked a sense of humor, Tom decided to hand in his jacket and tie and instead turned to the world of literature.

His novel, First Night, set in Boston during the New Year’s Eve festival, introduced the unlikely heroines, Alex and Jackie, and the ghost of a 17th century Puritan named Sarah Pemberton. First Night won an Honorable Mention in the Middle-Grade/Young Adult category, in the Writers Digest 17th Annual International Self-Published Book Awards.

The sequel to First Night, called the Elf of Luxembourg, was publshed in January, 2010. As with First Night, The Elf of Luxembourg is also a supernatural mystery, with a blend of humor and history that has become Tom’s trademark.

Tom is currently working on Book 3 of the Alex and Jackie Adventures, and is researching the background material for the story, which will be set in Ireland.

Tom has also written the screenplay, Fission, based on the true story of scientist, Lisa Meitner, and the race for the atomic bomb, and which was named a finalist at the London Independent Film Festival”

I haven’t read the books so far due to my lack of time! But I will and I will let you know what I think about them :)

I-Beat: first blog about Argentinian electronic music!

April 18th, 2010 Natubella 12 comments

I was interviewed by Fernando and Federico, the creators of a cool new Argentinian blog about electronic music: I-BEAT . They state they are the first ones on develop such a thematic blog about Argentinian electronic music.

You will find articles about everything related to the genre, not only artists! Here is a brief description of how they came up with such idea and what is their work about:

“Ibeat was born when we, Federico and Nando, friends,  found out that there was not a magazine or site specialized in Argentinian electronic music.
” – The first idea was to create a kind of digital magazine, with issues like software, hardware, events, interviews and more. Then we realized that it was a difficult job, so we started our work as a blog instead.

” – Our goal is to give information about electronic music from all around the globe, but specially from Argentina.

” – We write an amount of 45 post per month about new hardware and software, releases, events, producers, Djs and live shows.

“The blog was targeted on Spanish readers first, but due to the increasing amount of visitors from all over the world we have just started a new site, which includes most of the posts but this time in English.”

So check the blog out and as I always say, take your own conclusions!

No, my interview is not there yet, but soon it will be! so I’ll let you know ;)

Ricky Martin out of the closet!

March 31st, 2010 Natubella No comments

Congrats, Ricky Martin… we all knew about this, but your confirmation shows that you stand for your own choices and decisions and that is admirable (even tough if it took you a while)!

And here, “Private Emotion”, one of your videos (which I really like) with Meja, a  great talented and famous Swedish artist:

Alice in wonderland in 3D!

Alice in Wonderland - Walt Disney

My grandma used to call me my little “Alice” making reference to the character of the story… I never asked her why though. Maybe because of me having a great imagination… or because I always seemed to be lost in a fantasy land…? I don’t know. I guess I could ask her, but I rather keep the mystery…

Anyway, when I heard about the release of Tim Burton’s movie, “Alice in Wonderland” of course I couldn’t hold myself! I had to watch it and I did. In 3D of course ;)

Here is how I look on those 3D glasses, by the way :P

EQ Trax, new blog to download free electronic music!

March 6th, 2010 Natubella 4 comments

As you know, one of the parties where I played last time I was in London, was organized by Electroqueer blog or EQ. The blog is wonderful, full of news, releases and articles about the electronic-pop music world (I highly recommend it). Raj Rudolph is one of the responsibles of the blog. A really hard worker that loves what he does (if you start following the blog, you will understand why). I can tell that he is always looking for new ways to improve his work and please EQ followers and what he has done recently proves my point. Check it out, a new blog to download free electro-pop music (with the permission of the artists, of course)!

Lastly! One picture of Raj and me after the show in EQ Live party celebrated in Bar Music Hall, London, last February:

Exciting London! Just a quick note…

February 19th, 2010 Natubella No comments

Whenever I go to another city, I feel like a small kid. I want to see, touch, buy, experience EVERYTHING!!!! And London fulfills that perfectly. It’s never enough time though because I am not a simple tourist, I work my ass off rehearsing and preparing the last details of the gigs I have and that leaves not much room for the rest… Nevertheless and between shows I managed to do some shopping and I went to see a MUSICAAAAAAL!!! Yes! I did and it was fantastic! Nordic King’s choice and a good one! We went with a mutual friend and the 3 of us laughed so much!!! Here some pictures of the play. Oh, and the musical was Avenue Q, in case you want to see it ;)
