Hey guys, don’t forget that I am playing at the Dark Mills Festival in London this Sunday!
I’ll meet you there, ok?
Meanwhile I keep working on the show… incredible how much previous work it entails and then it lasts almost nothing! I enjoy so much being on stage that time flies by when I am up there…
Anyway, I better keep working now!
Hugs.
Dark Mills Festival - September 4th & 5th - London
Robyn, the Swedish singer went to USA, to David Letterman’s show and guess who was one of the fabulous musicians that plays with her??? Povel Ohlson. Yes, he is one of my producers. You can see him in this video (he is the drum player on the left).
This is Robyn’s new single “Dancing On My Own” of her new Album”Body Talk PT.1″, Enjoy the excellent performance:
Meanwhile I preparing the next tour (London, Spain, Argentina) I found myself lost in some cool French electro! So this time I introduce you Yelle, a French band founded by lead singer and namesake, Yelle and GrandMarnier. A third member, Tepr, joined the band before the recording of their debut album. The band came to prominence when they posted an early version of the song “Je Veux Te Voir” on MySpace in September 2005, it later reached the top five in France. Their debut album “Pop-Up” was released in 2007.
“Uffie is a Miami-born, Hong Kong-raised, Paris-based electro artist, vocalist, rapper, entertainer, producer and songwriter. She has been described as a muse for French DJs, and performs her lyrics in an ‘anti-flow’ delivery.
Her electronic music is known for its unique combination of the genres synthpop, French house, electro hop, nu-disco, rap, indie dance and club music.
She is perhaps best known for her singles “Pop the Glock”, “ADD SUV (feat. Pharell Williams)”, “Hot Chick”, “MC’s Can Kiss”, and “Tthhee Ppaarrttyy”, her 2007 collaboration with label mates Justice.
Her recent live performances have been compared to other artists in the Andy Warhol art movement.
Her debut album “Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans” was just released in Europe and USA.”
Yes, that’s what it looks to me… I am not saying I dislike it, but it certainly calls my attention that such old formulas are brought back. It seems that there is not enough creativity around… right?
I respect Lady Gaga’s work and I am sure that she doesn’t work alone… but c’mon! They have used all Madonna’s old videos brushing up the concept a little! Anyway, here it is goes, “Alejandro”:
I was watching some sites online and I stumbled upon this live gig… watch the drummer, he is crazy and brilliant and yeah, maybe a bit out of place… more fit for a heavy metal or a hard rock band, right?
I was so amused that I decided to post it here… unfortunately I couldn’t pick his name… not that I dag too much. Anyway, the band is called “Rick K and the Allnighters” (I wonder if he is Rick or just one allnighter…).
For those who haven’t heard about it, the Eurovision Song Contest is a special event that gathers most of European countries in a musical competition.
1 Song from each country competes for the 1st place and people are the ones that choose the winner. The show is held in the city of the former winner (from the year before). The genres that compete are different but most of the songs have a strong pop flavor.
The first prize was taken by Lena Meyer Landrut, from Germany this year.
So here it goes the winner song “Satellite” (I also include one song that I liked too but it didn’t make it):
And the other song I liked ” Sweet People” by Alyosha, from Ukraine :
I read that Gustavo Cerati is going through some health problems (he had a stroke after a show in Venezuela and he is still there until he gets better) and I decided to do a small post about him. I wish he get well soon, of course and with my wishes, here it goes some info and a video of his work .
“ Gustavo Adrián Cerati Clark (born August 11, 1959) is an Argentine artist and songwriter. During the 1980s and 90s he was a member of the Argentine rock band Soda Stereo , along with Charly Alberti and Zeta Bosio (remember I had played with him, right?) . In the early 90s, with Amor Amarillo, he pursued a solo career”
Not long ago I did a cover song of Black Sabbath, remember? NIB
So it felt like posting about Ronnie James Dio, the singer who replaced Ozzy Osbourne in Black Sabbath and who died at age 67… what happened? life! It doesn’t matter actually how, does it? well, it was not a murder and not a suicide…
Anyway, I just wanted to say good bye to a great voice! RIP
I have not much to say except two things, I regained my interest in You Tube (yes, I was kinda bored about it lately) and I found another amazing performance there…
Enjoy this little but greatly talented kid (12 years old! damn, I am so envious!) performing in a piano an exquisite version of Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi”:
She is a little sweet old lady (she reminds me my grandma in a way)… but be prepared, because when she decides to open her mouth to sing, a massive voice would fill you up with emotions (yes, even though what she sings is not within my favorite music style, I fall in love with her ).
