Stardoll, more than playing with dolls!

June 10th, 2010 2 comments

“Stardoll” is a really fun virtual doll house, where you can create your doll (boys and girls) and interact with other dolls, socialize, play games, etc.

I invite you to check it up… You will find fun games such as dress Natubella for a gig!

The angel of death…

May 30th, 2010 1 comment

That’s how I often refer, ironically, about my mother or my grandma… why? Because in general every time I talk to them, they tell me about someone that has passed away… Well, now it’s my angel of death moment (my 3 last posts are the proof!)! I know, I know, the next posts will not be about dead, I promise!… but we embrace birth with joy and hope, why can’t we try to see dead from a more positive point of view… it’s still part of life, right?

Anyway I won’t make this longer. My respects and a big goodbye to Denis Hooper and to Gary Coleman.

2 small videos about them:

“The Cove”, touching, heartbreaking documentary…

April 21st, 2010 6 comments

If you love animals like I do, this Academy Award winner documentary is a “must”. When I finished watching it I couldn’t believe how far human stupidity and omnipotence go… It’s a shame that some people is so blinded by the concept of intelligence that they forget to apply it…

And  “The Cove” it’s only one example of this strange “superior” behavior that some human beings have…

Watch it, shed some tears if you feel like (I did!) but then do something to help this or other causes. It doesn’t take much… maybe a sing up in some website… perhaps a small $$ collaboration… everything helps!

Here is a petition to stop the cruelty shown in the documentary, so if you are interested, just sign it!

Tom Weston, a box full of surprises!

April 21st, 2010 5 comments

Remember the interesting animated video (N.I.B.) I recently released? Well, Its director, Tom Weston is a multi-skilled character and I didn’t even know!

I was at home last week, when someone rang the door and drop a package before I could see who it was… The messenger wasn’t important in that case, but what the box contained was! Two books autographed by the writer: Tom Weston! I was  gladly surprised, because I didn’t know he was also a writer (I must admit that Nordic King was the one in direct contact with Tom). So I did some research and I found out that this man is a talented and hardworking man.

Here is his BIO (for more info you can go to his site):

“Originally from England, Tom now resides in Boston, Massachusetts.

Before turning his hand to fiction, Tom had a successful career as the CEO of a
consulting company, conference speaker and writer of industry articles and business books.
But determining that the business world lacked a sense of humor, Tom decided to hand in his jacket and tie and instead turned to the world of literature.

His novel, First Night, set in Boston during the New Year’s Eve festival, introduced the unlikely heroines, Alex and Jackie, and the ghost of a 17th century Puritan named Sarah Pemberton. First Night won an Honorable Mention in the Middle-Grade/Young Adult category, in the Writers Digest 17th Annual International Self-Published Book Awards.

The sequel to First Night, called the Elf of Luxembourg, was publshed in January, 2010. As with First Night, The Elf of Luxembourg is also a supernatural mystery, with a blend of humor and history that has become Tom’s trademark.

Tom is currently working on Book 3 of the Alex and Jackie Adventures, and is researching the background material for the story, which will be set in Ireland.

Tom has also written the screenplay, Fission, based on the true story of scientist, Lisa Meitner, and the race for the atomic bomb, and which was named a finalist at the London Independent Film Festival”

I haven’t read the books so far due to my lack of time! But I will and I will let you know what I think about them :)

Friday night: horror movies and homemade pancakes…

March 18th, 2010 No comments

Sometimes a little break is not bad at all, isn’t is???

Working a lot in music, can make you as tired or even more than any other job! So I decided to enjoy myself on Friday. Have some friends over and throw this kind of horror night for them (I love horror films, by the way!).

What is on the menu?

* Paranormal Activity

Some nice snacks

* Fright Night (I have seen it before and I think it’s a master piece that is worth to watch it more than once!)

Homemade pancakes with ice cream.

I am not sure if it will be in that specific order, but I am sure we all will enjoy it!

How about your weekend????

Me in a bad hair day? Nah, Fright Night movie caption! :P

Alice in wonderland in 3D!

Alice in Wonderland - Walt Disney

My grandma used to call me my little “Alice” making reference to the character of the story… I never asked her why though. Maybe because of me having a great imagination… or because I always seemed to be lost in a fantasy land…? I don’t know. I guess I could ask her, but I rather keep the mystery…

Anyway, when I heard about the release of Tim Burton’s movie, “Alice in Wonderland” of course I couldn’t hold myself! I had to watch it and I did. In 3D of course ;)

Here is how I look on those 3D glasses, by the way :P

December 7th, 2009 2 comments

What a great experience to be surrounded by an huge vocal choir (80 persons)!!! and all together singing one of my songs along with me!!! Tomorrow is the day! I will meet UNISOUL vocal choir and rehearse “Little Devil” song with them.

They have been actually working in another song of mine, “Keep it Simple” and they are planning to perform it in their annual presentation, in 2 weeks. The director of the Choir  Cecilia NedgÃ¥rd and the rest of the members invited me to participate in this presentation as well and of course I agreed but with one condition, that the choir sing with me!

We will film it, of course! So you all will be able to enjoy it as well

I’m going to rest now, I need to be fresh and relaxed tomorrow ;)

Gooddnight….

Sonia Rykiel for H&M and I almost forgot about MUSIC!

December 2nd, 2009 2 comments

PARIS: a blue illuminated Eiffel Tower in the background…  Cool electronic sounds and a big audience watching dozens of half naked girls on luxury chariots in a very fancy parade! That was the Sonia Rykiel presentation of her new underwear collection for H&M!!!

How can a girl like me concentrate in work with such a big thing going on???

My Achilles heel in no other than shoes and underwear! HOW can H&M sabotage my work in such a way ??? :P

Well, as a good shopaholic I am waiting for the release of Sonia Rykiel‘s underwear collection, here in Stockholm, so wish me luck, coz there will be blood among the other shopaholics ;)

So forgive me for this parenthesis in the music and let’s go back to work!

Lost in Cubase, logic pro, VTS and thousands of plugins!!!

November 9th, 2009 2 comments

Remember how Bill Murray was completely upside down with the time and the language in “Lost in Translation”? That’s how I feel with the programming in my Mac!
My absence from the blog is because I have been preparing a different live set, instead of the full band format I used before. Now men (woman, actually) and machine will melt together to give an exciting musical experience… actually my brain is melting literally meanwhile I am preparing the set because it’s so muuuuch and hard work! LOL

Programs, plugins, interface, bmp, MIDI, headset, VTS and many more! Names that before they were just sounds in the producers mouths now they are my only focus of attention!
Thank God I’m not alone and my friend and one of the producers of the record, Fernando Montemurro is giving me remote support! But I might need more help… so start praying :P

That’s all for now. I promise I will write about the progress of this and I will keep you posted about the rest of my work.

Modern torture!

October 17th, 2009 1 comment

I was walking home, crossing through the galleria heading to the subway.

I know this place like the palm of my hand and to be honest, there is nothing surprising in the shops that are there, so my walk was fast.

But this time, an incense aroma and this exotic soft music, caught my attention. I looked and I saw this little sweet Chinese trying to catch my attention. She was promoting this new shop there and she offered me a free consultation.

I looked inside the shop and I saw a lot of jars full of herbs with weird inscriptions. The music and the lighting all inviting me to go in, so I accepted (not before realizing that they offered acupuncture and massages).

This sweet old and small Chinese dr interviewed me. It was a bit hard, she speaks Chinese mainly, some Swedish and almost no English… I hardly speak Swedish, but I managed to make myself clear about me, my back and my stress!

She invited me to go into a room… she would cure me!

What happened after was kinda bizarre… Me on the torture bed with this woman needling me from top to toe! She placed a heater over my back, warming me a little bit too much! Then I was left alone for a while.

My head soar and pulsating for the pain (one of the needles was hurting me crazy). My lower back felt paralyzed and my neck burning in flames thanks to the heater. I tried to move… to make some noise… something! -someone there??? I’m buuuuuuuurning- but no response.

You know when you are in those situations it’s really hard, because if you speak, you move or even if you think it feels like you shouldn’t, you are there, you accepted the terms and if you say something, it’s not allowed! :P

Anyway, after some minutes, which seemed to be eternal for me, the heater stopped -thank God it has a timer!- The sweet old lady came in and she ask me: all good??? in her limited english. Well, I started to say… but she didn’t wait for my answer and she removed all the needles fast before I could snooze! -relieeeeeeeeef!-

I was still on the bench, on my stomach, laying there, not knowing what to do or what she was doing… I heard her moving and touching things. She approached me again. I said: Is it finished? She: nonono! And right after I heard she used a lighter -will she set me on fire?- then without letting me ask, she placed something in my back, that suck a piece of my skin! (cupping therapy) -OMG!-

At that point I just left myself go… The cupping was not that dramatic and I actually started to enjoy it… but this little old lady had something else for me, so after 10 minutes she returned and she gave me a HAAAAAARD massage, meanwhile she was asking: Painful? Painful? (I wonder if it was sadism what made her ask!) OF COUUUUUUURSE!!!!

The session ended and I actually was feeling GOOD! So I rebook it for next week :P

Here are some pictures that will show you what I’ve been through…

brunch, wildernes and football in Stockholm, what a Saturday!!

October 11th, 2009 2 comments

My Saturday started late… as you already know I am a creature of the night, therefore my days end really late (or early depending on the point of view) and start close to midday (rock & roll life style, yeah!). We woke up fast, dressed quickly and run to meet another of my friends/producer Lars Nyström. It was his Birthday so we invited him to have lunch with us (Nordic King & me). We had a sleepy wonderful brunch in a lovely place of Stockholm.

After that and referring to the title, Nordic king and me went to the beautiful park Skansen full of Swedish animals and typical old farms.

Beautiful weather, nice scenery and great company! What else would you ask?!

After one hour of nature we run back home in a picturesque rail-car (rail-buss). We arrived right on time to baked some home made pizzas (yeah! I made them! I love cooking) and we got ready for the football game: Denmark vs Sweden (Sweden lost so there are no chances for them to go to the world cup :( Let’s see how Argentina behaves!).

Here some of the pictures I took
