Natubella in Holland

Op het eerste gezicht natuurlijk weinig, maar de Argentijnse zangeres NATUBELLA bewijst met de release van haar debuutalbum LITTLE DEVIL het tegendeel. Net als Prinses Maxima heeft NATUBELLA er voor gekozen om van Europa haar uitvalsbasis te maken om de wereld te veroveren. Vanuit Stockholm heeft ze samen met verschillende muzikanten en producers gewerkt aan de totstandkoming van het album LITTLE DEVIL.
NATUBELLA bestempelt de release als een ElectROCKnica album: “Uit de samenwerking met verschillende getalenteerde muzikanten en producers kwam een gemixt genre voort dat ik moeilijk in een bestaand hokje kon stoppen. Door het spelen met verschillende woorden vond ik de perfecte naam om mijn muziek weer te geven: ElectROCKnica – It’s not rock with a synth, but synth that rocks!”

Over de naam van het album vertelt NATUBELLA: “In alle nummers laat ik op de een of andere manier het kleine duiveltje dat in mij leeft naar buiten. Ik ben er van overtuigd dat iedereen een donkere kant, een duiveltje in zich heeft. De tegenstelling, die donkere kant die zijn bestaans-recht ontleent aan de tegenovergestelde lichte kant… dat intrigeert me enorm. Daarom heb ik het album LITTLE DEVIL genoemd.”

Op LITTLE DEVIL werkte NATUBELLA onder andere samen met de producer Povel Ohlsson. Ohlsson is een bekende Zweedse producer en momenteel drummer bij superster Robyn. Als muzikale invloeden noemt NATUBELLA artiesten als Depeche Mode, Robyn, Blondie, Massive Attack, Goldfrapp Curve en Nine Inch Nails.

Nederland is het eerste land waar LITTLE DEVIL internationaal wordt uitgebracht. NATUBELLA over deze keuze: “Nederland heeft altijd een inspirerende en innovatieve dance scene gehad en ik wil het Nederlandse publiek dan ook graag als eerste kennis laten maken met LITTLE DEVIL. Ook ben ik er best trots op dat een mede Argentijnse de toekomstige koningin van Nederland is. Daarom hebben we ervoor gekozen om LITTLE DEVIL uit te brengen op 17 mei 2011 – Prinses Maxima’s veertigste verjaardag.”

LITTLE DEVIL komt uit op 17 mei 2011 via AMP/ DMI Records. De eerste single is de titeltrack ‘Little Devil.’

Entering in a quite building at night… stealing the far dull sound and then sneaking into the room to finally see them, all gathered together (around 70 persons) and singing one of my songs! Amazing! What can I say? They were so nice and the voices raised in harmony and passion… It touched me deeply.

They were recommended to me and they are from 2 different artists from Sweden.

The first one is more like the style of music I listen to.  Wahlström & Valiant a Swede artistic duet or as they call themselves, the  electro-break-beat duo with a passion for retro sounds (which I totally agree).

This two guys that come from a different musical background did a good job by joining forces and mixing their styles. I am getting to know their music meanwhile I am writing here and I know they will go to my personal music library!

This second artist as I said before is also from Sweden, though his roots come from South America like me.

His style is completely different to the other band I just mentioned, as he is deep into hip hop.

Pato Pooh is a young and talented artist that has been into the Swedish hip hop scene since 2002 and keeps it going. Winner of several awards and who has also a record company!!! Yes, he is 24 and he seems to be doing a great job! He writes and produces for other artists in parallel to his own music. Clap clap, chico! :) .

So let’s go back to retro and check his video too. I loved it! Btw, did I forget to mention that he has just released his new album?
