LSDA New Album: Spirituality

February 3rd, 2011 No comments

After months of hard work, the Argentinean Fernando Montemurro, the person behind LSDA, proudly presents his 4th album: SPIRITUALITY… and I can honestly say that his hard work paid off!

With an interesting art cover (inspired by the movie “Moon”) “Spirituality” gets you first through your eyes just to hypnotize you moments after with its modern sound…  With influences such as Justice, Soulwax, New Order, Infusion (the list goes on), this new album will make you discover new ways of electronic, psychedelic and rock.

It’s a great work, tight and highly well produced and I can say that LSDA has the understanding of the current electronic music scene to make his mark.

Trip hop, low fi,  live accordion lines, guitar, singer and dancers all united in a 2/4 concept that brings Tango out of the box!

Let’s fantasize, let’s think of Astor Piazzola and  Roberto Goyeneche teaming up with Portishead or Morcheeba… the result? No fantasy but a reality!  BUENOS AIRES TANGO BEAT, the superb project of Fernando Montemurro (yes, he was one of the producers of Little Devil ;) ).

“This project was born at the beginning  of 2000.  Fernando Montemurro is the head behind it, who using machines, synthesizers, and samplers and mixed them up together with bandoneons melodies and tipical sounds of classic tango created this sound that will take you throught a new musical experience…”

The album shares the same name as the project and it was released in 2009. It has 12 marvelous tracks and it had received excellent reviews from all over the world (by the way, the female voices you hear in some of the tracks  it’s me!!!).

Check his sites for more info:  MyspaceFacebook

And listen for yourself to get your own conclusions.

Oh! and be ready because Fernando is taking his Tango show back to the European summer this July!

Lost in Cubase, logic pro, VTS and thousands of plugins!!!

November 9th, 2009 2 comments

Remember how Bill Murray was completely upside down with the time and the language in “Lost in Translation”? That’s how I feel with the programming in my Mac!
My absence from the blog is because I have been preparing a different live set, instead of the full band format I used before. Now men (woman, actually) and machine will melt together to give an exciting musical experience… actually my brain is melting literally meanwhile I am preparing the set because it’s so muuuuch and hard work! LOL

Programs, plugins, interface, bmp, MIDI, headset, VTS and many more! Names that before they were just sounds in the producers mouths now they are my only focus of attention!
Thank God I’m not alone and my friend and one of the producers of the record, Fernando Montemurro is giving me remote support! But I might need more help… so start praying :P

That’s all for now. I promise I will write about the progress of this and I will keep you posted about the rest of my work.

“Massive attack” show brought back old memories…

LSDA & Natubella

I read in a magazine that they were touring and they were coming here to Stockholm and I couldn’t help to remember when I was part of LSDA and we shared stage with them. It was not only a magical night, but an honour for us to be part of that big festival and play before them. It’s not necessary clarify that our performance was great and the audience loved Fernando Montemurro’s work (Creator of LSDA and also a good friend and one of the producer of “Little Devil“)  :P

Going back to Massive Attack, they have been always great influence, so as you can imagine, I couldn’t hold myself and I bought tickets for the event (no way I was gonna miss it). Nordic king was dragged with me (he has no choice as I have been attending , hehe!).

The show was superb. They played a lot of “oldies” which I personally love and the gig was entertaining, lively and with an impeccable  aesthetic. The lighting and the images were elaborated and fit perfectly with the songs and what they wanted to communicate. “Tear drop” version, was flawless!

I would have liked to have a better camera with me, but I only had my phone… so the pictures are not the best, but will give you an idea of how it was.

I also added some pictures of 2006, when we performed in the same festival than them.
